History
This may surprise some of our runners to know that FNR began way back, over 8 years ago!! Back then we called it Friday Club and our coach was the legend Paul Reilly, we would meet up every Friday and run from the Village in Hyde, some night we would have well over 50 runners. Paul was an amazing coach, and everyone loved him, he had such a zest for life and loved coaching and supporting everyone who joined, he had a knack of making people feel welcome and included!!

Unfortunately, our coach Paul got sick, it was a really hard time for him and his wife Sandie, through his illness Paul would still turn up every Friday, he ran for as long as he could then had to give in and walk, then Covid came and we were introduced to zoom we had some amazing Friday nights in, having a beer and a chat on zoom till the early hours some nights!!

During our training Paul and Scott always got on so well and when Paul was reduced to walking, he asked Scott to man up and help out with the runners, Scott jumped at the chance to help his mate out, and he did an amazing job, so much so that Paul asked Scott to be his wingman... which Scott did and a good job of that he has been doing ever since.

We lost our coach in November 2021 but his legacy lives on and will keep on living on through Friday Night Runners.
